Job consists of parcel delivery and pick-ups within Whitehorse area
Main Duties
- Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver parcels, packages and other materials
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle
- Plan delivery travel schedules and service routes
- Load and unload cargo
- Provide customer service by delivering over established routes and accepting or making payments for goods
- Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage and fuel costs and report any incidents or problems encountered
- Scan and sort freight or cargo for delivery
- Communicate with central dispatch using mobile equipment.
Employment requirements
- Secondary school graduation is required
- A driver’s licence appropriate to the class of vehicle being driven is required
- One year of safe driving experience is required
- One year or more experience in similar occupation
- Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TGD) certification may be required for delivery of some cargo
- Ability to pick-up and deliver all packages associated to the route area or as required
- Complete a criminal record check and security screening
- Must be able to lift 65lbs

Key Responsibilities
- Ability to meet and maintain service requirements
- Load and unload vehicle
- Perform additional pick-ups and deliveries as required
- Accurate completion and daily submission of delivery records and required documentation
- Build positive relationships with both internal customers (managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors) and external customers
- Additional duties as required related to delivery standards

- Ability to work as a Team and assist where required
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proper package handling techniques
Hours of Work
Monday – Friday position with some Sundays during Peak Seasons.
Wages and Benefits
$23.28/hr
